The Republicans insist on continuing to behave irresponsibly, irrationally, and immaturely. I am saddened to acknowledge.

This morning, I have attempted to watch the proceedings of the House Subcommittee Hearings on the AIG debacle and The TARP bailout. These Republican lawmakers will not give it a rest...their bitterness, their egotistic embarrassment at having made such a disaster of the past eight years' GNP and having been taken as patsys by their own Republican leadership in the White House, as well as the unethical finance and business practices of the Wall Street Gang, of which these self-same Republican lawmakers have long supported and held in such high esteem. That's their shame. They need to leave it alone and focus upon how they can now work with the new administration to solve this mess of their own making. Though they try mightily to place blame on any faction of the Democratic Party that they can lay hands (and mouth) upon, their accusations are hollow to the thinking man and woman on the street. Average Mr. and Ms. America know better...no matter what their choice of political party/affiliation. Average Mr. and Mrs. America, it is my hope and desire that you will not allow these filibustering Republican politicians to jerk your chains, pull the wool over your eyes, and once again bamboozle you into believing and accepting their face-saving, childish rhetoric. It's all a ruse to alleviate their grave incompetence, personal gain and greed, and, yes, their belatedly, reluctantly admitted shame for their actions/inaction.

No one--none of us--likes to admit we've been had. It is truly an embarrassment to admit to naivete. But, truth is truth and the way to begin to make change. Making change is our only way out of this horrendous tragedy. Please believe that. Once we've accepted the truth, then we will be able to push up our sleeves and get to work solving the problems of our economic woes. In my opinion, they (Republicans) should have accepted the hand of non-partisanship extended many times the past 53 days by the one man that is indisputably the right man for the job at the right time in the history of our nation. They know who he is...don't you?

We must not forget that while tomorrow is the official federal holiday celebration of Dr. King's birthday, his birthday is actually January 15th. Let's thank him in celebration on Monday, however, for his commitment to our nation's true ideals--the ideals upon which the founding fathers established our great nation.

But, so much has been happening, I've had so much to get done (and am still doing so much more, with even so much more yet left to do!!) that I haven't had time to "gossip" with ya'll (yep, that's what you guys think Texans should sound like, so...). I really like this woman!

She is one outspoken woman. I like her style. Truth is always IN! Her charm is grounded in truth.

As I watched her tonight on CNN's Larry King Live! I am impressed by how well she expresses her views (no pun intended) on the presidential candidates. She actually sees through the McCain bull! And, that makes her a member of a very small club. I've stated my own opinions on American's inability to cut through the muck when it comes to us allowing professional wool-weavers to pull the wool over our eyes. McCain is a charlatan. He wants to win the White House at any and all costs. His reasons are purely self-serving...though he'll never admit to it. Which reminds me of what I think about his POW experience and how it made him "grow up."

Well, for now, I can only say that in light of the hair trigger behavior of George Bush, the son, America cannot afford to have a loose cannon like John McCain as our chief executive so closely upon the heels of the joke upon our country that began eight years ago. Oh, and I'll have to add that Joy, class-act-Jewish-Princess-female-comedian-talk-show-host that she is, told it like it is tonight. No differently, I might add, than she does every day on The View; just like she does whenever playing an engagement at whatever comedy event upon whose stage she chooses to grace. You go, girl!!

Chatty Catty, here. Let's chat!

In the news, I know you all know NBC's Heroes star, Hayden Panettiere. Yeah, you do. She plays the role of the cheerleader ("save the cheerleader"), Claire Bennet, who heals really fast and really well. Nice little trait to have, huh?

Anyway, she's got problems--big problems--on the show, but you'll have to tune in there in the fall. I'm not going to give you a recap here :) BUT, the problems on the show have some serious competition with her real life. It seems her mom, Leslie (btw, Leslie is Hayden's middle name, too) and her dad, Alan are upstaging the kid. Just last evening (Monday) or so they got into an out-and-out brawl. It's reported Alan punched Leslie three times with a closed-hand fist! Leslie called the police and he was arrested. It was suggested that perhaps the Panettieres had both been drinking and he struck her because he was jealous of her flirty behavior (she is a hot looking mom, I admit even though I'm totally into men--but truth is truth). Then, this source surmised, after they sobered up, Leslie refused to press charges so Alan's out the slammer.

Another suggested that the parents wanted to get some of the attention their daughter had been getting. After all, Leslie had put out for her "career development" from the time she had been a small 'un. You know, for dance lessons and such. Kind of a prep for future star type program. You know... Maybe she thinks it's 'bout time Hayden's fame paid off (like any good investment, huh?).

Now, listen. I think that just maybe this family's a little mixed up. While her parents behave like unruly, spoiled children, Hayden dresses like a woman ten to fifteen years older, she drives a car that no self-respecting teenage girl would drive (no matter how much--or little--money she had), and she is never found in the hot spots 'round town (though with all the mess following the stars (especially the females--what's up with that?) in her peer group these days, this might be a smart move on Hayden's part--at least her career won't suffer due to a lot of bad press). Still, it's a little messed-up when the child is behaving so much more responsibly than the parents, isn't it? She'll be 19 on the 21st--maybe one or two of you out there will remember to send her a birthday wish next week? To Ms. Hayden, I say You go, girl. What do you say? Let's hear ya!

Today boys and girls our subject is Antonio Sabato, Jr.

Born February 29, 1972 in Rome, Italy he came to America to follow a dream. At 17, he was the hunk in Janet Jackson's "Love Will Never Do Without You" on the Janet Jackson: The Rhythm Nation Compilation (1990) video. That's seventeen! Ahem... and fine! But, at seventeen, was he too young to play the role in this steamy music video of Ms. Jackson ("if you're nasty")? And, he says he didn't have an intimate relationship with Janet...but, girls--have you seen that video and the scene with the two of them where Janet's back is to him (and I mean to him!), her arm up and back to stroke his face, and he's wrapped around her, close, his lips nibbling at her ear?!? mmm... and that was just one moment of a music video, girls. WOW!

Later, he would become a star on ABC's longest-running soap, General Hospital; CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful; and star in many episodes of many TV serials. He's also had some time on the big screen and now he's returning to his soap roots. In everything most of us girls would say, no matter what he's done or will do, he's H-O-T -- hot! What do you say?

Barry White or Barry Gibbs

Ladies, do you ever daydream about men with certain traits? Say you prefer men who are tall. Or, what about men who are light complected? Maybe you care more for professionals over blue collar workers; for younger men rather than those your age or older; or for thin/slender-built guys.

Nightline had a story about women who prefer men with heavy voices, as opposed to those with more tenor than timbre in their tones. Their study showed that men with heavy voices had more women than those without. They even found these men had more children than their lighter voiced brothers.

When they posed the question to women mainly in England, they responded the same as their American counterparts: they, too, preferred the man with the heavy, sensual tone to his voice. Then they played a Barry White tune followed by one of the brothers Gibbs, featuring Barry Gibbs. The women readily identified Barry White and chose his song over the Gibbs'. They were asked to chose which man's voice they preferred and, you guessed it, they overwhelmingly chose Barry White's.

So, what do you say: Barry White or Barry Gibbs? Come on ladies, speak up.

Nope. I didn't mistype the greeting, "hello" nor did I leave out the first letter (O). It's just my way of welcoming you to my home.

Now, secondly, my name's Chatty Catty (no, to those 1960ish girls, not Chatty Cathy the babydoll!).

I just wanted to talk awhile. How 'bout you? Guess this could kinda become your spot to hang out and chat about the real things that make sense out there. Each time I get a moment to hang with you, I'll suggest a topic and give you the low on it/him/her... whatever. You can comment when the spirit moves you, okay? OK!

I heard yesterday from a reputable source that Da' Brat might have to go to jail for about a year for hitting another woman over the head with a bottle. For those of you who don't know, the subject is a young female rapper/rap artist. For some reason many feel she was justified in doing what he did to another person. Personally, as a self-respecting, fully accountable and mature adult, I wonder why a great number of those in this age group do not understand they cannot go around putting their hands on other people. I know you might think this kind of violent act is only perpetrated by people like her... those considered to be celebrities. Think again! The under 35 age group have problems understanding they need to keep their hands (and bad attitudes) to themselves... unless they're ready to pay (that can be cash or time, or both) LOL but NLM. What do you say?
